East African Seed Co. Ltd. was established in 1972 with a firm commitment to provide quality seeds and services to the farming community around East Africa. With the enormous business support of the farmers and the rising demand for high quality seeds, the company has expanded its operations into other Eastern, Southern, Central and West African Regions.

The company has direct or indirect presence in more than 15 African countries. Today, East African Seed Company is among the leading companies in Africa providing ‘Africa’s Best’ seeds and agri-inputs.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Quality assurance is at the heart of our organization and comprises of qualified personnel and well-equipped laboratories for scrutinizing seed purity, both physical and genetic. Pre and post control tests are undertaken by the Quality Assurance team to verify all quality aspects of imported and locally produced seeds.

To further ensure quality products are available in the market and to protect the farmers against counterfeits, we have introduced a mobile code system for checking genuineness of seeds sold; this has been achieved through collaboration with regulatory agencies and other stake holders. All seeds produced and distributed by East African Seed Co. Ltd. meet international standards and have International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) certificates on purity, germination and phytosanitary requirements. These quality aspects are further confirmed by local regulatory authorities.

Our efforts in providing quality seeds and services to farmers have brought employment, joy and satisfaction in the daily lives of millions of families and has boosted the economies of the regions we serve. These efforts have earned EASEED numerous awards in recognition of our contribution to agricultural growth in the region. Currently, we are Ranked No.1 in Eastern & Southern Africa in Access to Seeds Index 2019.
